Chakra
Balancing and Healing
Chakras are
pure radiant energy centers that spin gently and evenly within our body. They
are directly aligned up and down your spine. Each chakra serves its own unique
purpose in keeping you healthy and balanced. Lets look at each chakra and it's
importance to our well being.
Root
Chakra
Located in women between the ovaries, for men one inch below the belly, at the base of the spine, it is the gateway of life.
It represents the ability to survive in the physical world, make changes and gives
you vitality. Connects you to the earth. The color is soft light red. Balanced energy in your root chakra gives you a sense of stability, security and well being. Too much
energy can cause you to feel unstable, not grounded and fearful. Not enough
energy can make you feel depleted and lifeless.
Illnesses associated with the imbalance of the root chakra: depression, back pain, immune disorders,
feeling fearful, disconnected, insecure...
Belly
Chakra
Located in the lower abdomen or "belly button", it is the flow of
emotions and sexuality. The center of expressed and unexpressed feelings. The
color is soft orange. When your belly chakra is balanced you remain flowing both
emotionally and sexually. you feel centered and grounded. You have a good sense
of belonging and are tuned in to your feelings. Too much energy can make you
overly sensitive to others and take on their feelings and you may become
immobilized by fear. Not enough energy you may dry up both emotionally and
sexually.
Illnesses associated with the imbalance of the belly chakra: muscle cramps, spasms, bladder, urinary problems, repression, madness...
Solar
Plexus
Located just above the navel about 3 to 4 inches. The center for the balance between emotion and intellect. The color is yellow.
A balanced solar plexus keeps you in balance and brings emotional peace. Too much can cause emotional imbalances and nervousness. Not enough can make you feel tired and mentally stale,
depressed, confused and you may worry a lot.
Illnesses associated with the imbalance of the solar plexus: food allergies, eating disorders, gallstones, arthritis, depression, mental and
nervous imbalance...
Heart
Chakra
Located between the breast at the lower edge of
the breast bone. Connects your higher self with your lower chakras. The color is rose and or green.
When your heart chakra is in balance you have true sense of self love and a connection to all. You are balanced, compassionate and empathetic. Your powers to heal not only yourself but others increase. Too much energy can cause you to feel disconnected, uncaring towards others and yourself. Not enough energy and you may have a lot of self-pity or become afraid to the point of paranoia.
Illnesses associated with the imbalance heart chakra: high blood pressure, heart problems, trouble breathing, breast and lung cancer, insomnia...
Throat
Chakra
Located at the base of the neck, in the hollow of
the collarbone. This is the center of creativity, communication and expression. The color is blue.
When your throat chakra is balanced you can easily express yourself both mentally and emotionally. With too much energy you become self righteous and arrogant. Not enough, the words get stuck and you have trouble speaking your mind.
Illnesses associated with the imbalance of the throat chakra: sore throat, ear infections, hyperthyroid...
Brow Chakra (Third
Eye)
Located between and slightly above the physical eyes. This center has to do with psychic abilities, to see clearly both internally and externally, the ability to see beyond the physical. The color is indigo
blue. Keeping the third eye open and balanced helps you to develop your intuition, telepathic skills and the ability to heal.

Crown
Chakra
Located at the top of the head. This is the opening for your higher self and your connection with higher spiritually. The
color is amethyst. When in balance you are open to the divine. With too much energy you lose power, become destructive and always seem frustrated. Not enough energy and you may have no spark for life and become catatonic.
Illnesses associated with the imbalance of the crown chakra: psychic depression, extremely sensitive to environment.
Transpersonal
Point
Located several inches above the crown. This is where you draw forth the white light of protection, love and light. The color is iridescent white.
